GRACIOUS!"Today, for journal writing, you have to write about the word GRACIOUS,"said mr jae.
What a topic! I cannot think of anything right now! This must be the first time my mind went blank just by looking at the title of today's journal. To add to it, we have to write four hundred to five hundred words!
Sigh!
Anyway, with a little help from rhymezone,i got hold of its definition. It simply means exhibiting courtesy,politeness,compassion and generousity of one's spirit!People who have all this personality in them can be said to be gracious person. Personally, i think i am one too!haha!Actually, graciousness has a part in everyone even though you may say that they are bad-mannered. This is only my opinion though!
Since young, children are slowly instill with good values for their personality. Graciousness is definitely one of them. it is good to instill this values when they are young as this children are quite innocent and will follow any instructions well. It would too late when they are already in their teens as that is when the defiance and rebelling start.
There are some scenarios whereby one's graciousness can be shown. For instance, you could help a blind man to walk across the street or carry the heavy plastic bags for an elderly woman if she's having any difficulties in carrying. You can even simply help your teachers to carry their books too! You must be sincere to help.Only then you can fill the satisfaction of your graciousness!
Another definition of gracious is actually, charmed by one's beauty. For example, you can say, "she is such a graceful dancer". this definition of gracious actually appeals more to be used to describe a gentle and demure female.
Gracious can also mean treating others with respect.I believed that everyone should be treated with respect, be it young, old rich or poor. If you respect someone, they in turn shall also respect you.
The opposite of gracious are rough,rude,bad-mannered and impolite.These are not values that should be taught to the young ones. They will grow up doing all the wrong things and may even blame you for who they have become in future because of you due to the way you brought him or her up. You will then start blaming yourself sinking deep in to depression for some.
People would avoid people with all this bad qualities. They would not want to be their friend or even go near them. In return, the ill-mannered people would feel very lonely! i do not think this is how they want to spend the rest of their lives!So maybe, maybe we could give them a chance.
I also have a friend named Grace. like her name, she is very graceful and gracious too!She also happens to be a chinese dancer in school! So much coincidence!haha!She lives up to her name of course!
okay,now i am stuck. I seriously have got nothing to talk about being gracious! help! Let me think...
ah! yeah, i am going to read mr jae's blog. he wrote a story on gracious.maybe can get a few pointers from there. Should be quite interesting! He is exposing his creativity in writing.have i written five hundred words? Let me count...should be more than four hundred right?So, count for yourself. Happy counting!okay, i shall not be bad...it is about five hundred plus.
